LISU HILL TRIBE DOCUMENTARY

Back In July I worked alongside a film make as Director of Photography on a documentary focusing on The Hill Tribes of Northern Thailand.
During my time working on the project we were predominantly focusing on two Hill Tribes; The Black Lahou and The Lisu. Both tribes are situated in the mountains of Northern Thailand very near the Border of Myanmar (Burma.)
These photographs shown below were taken in The Lisu village of Namrin, in the province of Mae Hong Son. These photographs are of Avou, the first of her tribe to leave the tribe, get a degree and find a career in the outside world. As well as one of the main subjects she is also a translator for her father who can only speak the tribal Lisu language. He is the shaman of the village and the oldest living tribal member. Here are a few stills from some of  the filming.
